1951 The Festival of Britain
To celebrate the Festival of Britain Exhibition in 1951, a challenge cricket match was played on the Raunds ground with a Raunds XI taking on an All Ladies XI
The teams line up up for a record of the occasion. The Raunds men from left to right (rear row) comprised of Umpire George Nash, David Chantrell, Roy Tidbury, Cyril Holmes, Ron Rooksby, and Len Partridge with the second Umpire Norman Gates on the extreme right. The men on the front row from the left comprised of Roy Atkins, Ralph Parkinson, Tom Sawford, Les Abbott and Roy Barker. The Ladies XI are named on another photograph below.
