1956 Youngster David Frost, now of TV and International fame, finished top of the 1st XI batting averages with 119 runs from 7 innings. Just as well he did not try and make cricket his career cosidering how his fortune soared following succesful participation in the TV programme, That Was The Week That Was. It is alleged by some of his fellow players that he had already worked out his batting average by the time he got back to the Pavilion !!!

The above match between Raunds 2nd XI and Irthlingborough 2nd XI was played at Raunds on July 23rd 1955. The visitors batted first and opener John Cook who went on to be a great player for Irthlingborough, carried his bat through the whole innings to finish on 100 not out. Chasing a target of 163, David Paradine Frost opened and crept to a modest 21 before being caught by Leo Horner off Len Freeman when the score had reached 58. The only other support came from Billy Atkins who scored 30 and Raunds were happy to settle for a draw with the score at 104 for 6 wickets. This second scoresheet records the match between Irthlingborough 2nds against Raunds 1st XI at the Windmill Road Ground on May 27th 1958. Raunds took the honours in this game as the home side struggled to 91 all out with a fine performance with ball from Len Partridge with 5 for 42. In reply, Raunds were given a sound start with opener Jerome Betts contributing a well earned 42 . Brian Lawrence contributed a handy 16 and Len Partridge 10 for Raunds to creep past the target with just 2 wickets to spare. David Frost was unable to offer much support in this game only scoring 1 run in ten minutes batting at number 5.
